Tips from our PA insurance agency on driving with the family

Avoid distractions - Hand held DVD players, games, music and toys can be great at keeping children entertained on long trips. Just be careful to ensure the noise level is not so loud as to be distracting to the driver.
Keep conversations to a minimum – It is fine to talk while driving of course, but be careful to not get so wound up in conversation that you take your eyes or mind off the road.
Have regular rest stops – This is essential. Stretch your legs or have a coffee or meal. When you are feeling particularly tired, let your partner drive for a while, or make a stopover for the night.
Don’t rush – You’re on vacation, not in a race and speeding is dangerous at any time. Even if you arrive late, it’s always a better option than being involved in an accident.
Before heading on any trip, be sure to check your auto insurance is up to date and not due to expire while you are away. Keep your policy information with you and always carry the number for your PA insurance agency in the case of any emergency.
